Tombola

Last night we held another successful fundraising event at our school's musical production. In total our tombola raised a superb £95.70 which takes our overall budget to a fantastic £911.37.

We would like to thank all residents of Stanton Rd and the Langfield estate who donated prizes for the tombola. In addition we would like to thank everyone who had a go on our stall last night- we couldn't have done it without you!

Furthermore, this weekend we began buying plants, pots etc. for the garden in the hope that we will start gardening next Saturday.

School Event #1

Jane, Alice and I held Magic Beans' first school fundraising event at this Tuesday's Parents' Evening.

The aim of the evening was for parents to guess, for just 50p, the weight of a delicious Victoria Sponge cake (home-made by Jane) for the chance to win it.

We set up the stall at the end of the school day ready for the evening. Having already caught the attention of both students and teachers, by the time the event came around at 7pm, we had already filled in one sheet of guesses!

Not to scale!

On the stall, we provided information about our project in the form of leaflets, articles and even a model of the garden at the moment.

The parents showed a lot of interest in what we wanted to do and gave us words of encouragement.

While many parents said that they had no idea what the weight of (with many also being bewildered by the idea of using grams as the unit of measurement!), 3 guess sheets were completed and the total from the guesses amounted to an impressive £35.
